Description
The Rockford Fosgate R300-4 is known as the PRIME R300-4 and it is a 4-channel amplifier that has the capabilities for running your complete mobile audio system. It is ideal for component or full-range speakers for the front channels using subwoofers for the rear ones when operating in a bridged/mono mode. It provides a 12dB/octave Butterworth crossover to deal with both low and high frequencies. The power ground connections are 4 gauge with built-in ATC fusing. It receives power through a MOSFET power supply. This amplifier comes with a 1-year standard warranty.
The high quality of the amplification received from the R300-4 makes this a great value for the cost of the unit. It is versatile enough that you will never need another amplifier for your audio system. Full-range and component speakers work with this amplifier on the front channels with either a single R1S412 12” or R1S410 10” woofer bridged/mono for the rear.
Class A and Class B Topologie
Power ratings for the R300-4 are CEA-2006 compliant. This means that the power readings are accurate, uninflated power ratings and not ones just for marketing purposes.
Another beneficial feature is P.O.W.E.R., which is the design of the power supply and output on this amplifier. It enables the amplifier to increase its output of power as the voltage increases. The R300-4 combines both Class A and Class B topologies to produce quality sound results. Class A delivers ideal sound quality, but requires a high amount of current. Class B on the other hand, delivers power effectively. When both are combined, the sound quality is ideal on the front end, with the power being ideal in the output stages.
RMS continuance power is as follows: 150 Watts x2 @ 4-Ohm Bridged, 75 Watts x 4 @ 2-Ohms and 50 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohms. Total power or the sum of rated power is 300-Watts RMS. Dimensions of the R300-4 are 2.40 height x 7.67 width x 17.09 length.
