Description
In the audio world, there are a few names most people instantly recognize, and Rockford Fosgate falls into that category. People who have never built a system have heard of them, which is no small feat. That being said, are the Rockford Fosgate P32X12 worth the investment? After all they are over $250 for a boxed pair (depending on retailer and specials), are they really that good? Let us examine the feedback so far!
Sound Quality
Consumers who have purchased these speakers have nothing but good things to say, particularly about the sound quality, it is pure audiophile heaven. They are going to require an appropriate amp to function at full capacity, but once you hear the crisp sound and hard-hitting bass, you will never again second-guess the necessity.
For starters, they can handle a serious amount of power at 1200 watts RMS and 2400 watts peak. Add to this the specially designed (computer aided) vented box and you have a force to be reckoned with. Each box is constructed of 5/8 inch medium density fiberboard and covered in high-density carpet. Top that off with the internally wired 1-ohm amplifier load and it is hard to find a reason not to purchase these subwoofers.
Final Thoughts
If there is any downside to the Rockford Fosgate P32X12 it is the sheer weight of box and speakers combined. You should be able to handle 80 pounds, approximately, by yourself if you are going to be moving these monsters around. As noted above these are not your bargain basement subwoofers, but unlike a lot of consumer products this one is definitely worth the investment.
