Kenwood DDX374BT is and 2-DIN, in-dash monitor receiver that contains built-in Bluetooth connectivity. The 6.2” LCD, VGA-color display has LED backlighting and has easy-to-use touchscreen controls. Add background customization, variable key illumination and multi-language menu that includes 18 languages and this is an ideal monitor for a vehicle.
It is easy to stream audio files from Bluetooth devices such as an iPhone. Track search and track name display also come on this monitor. The monitor has Siri Eyes Free and allows for voice dialing on various types of smartphones for hands-free calling. Hands-free access also is available for phonebook, missed calls and last calls. Automatic Bluetooth pairing through USB is available.
This unit plays not only standard CDs, but also will play MP3s, AACs, WAVs and WMAs. On top of playing audio CDs, the driver can play DVDs when he is parked or with the addition of an external display, he can entertain his passengers while he drives to the destination. JPEG, MPEG1 or MPEG2 playback is also possible.
The tuner comes Sirius XM ready for those who subscribe to this radio service. There are 6 preset AM and 18 FM radio stations. RBDS complete with Radio Text Plus also comes with the DDX374BT, as does AME or Automatic Memory Entry and Up/Down Seek Tuning.
With the iPhone app mode from Kenwood, the user has control of numerous apps from the monitor’s touchscreen including YouTube and Netflix just for two examples. In addition, directions and maps are available through the Street Pilot app from Garmin on certain models of iPhones or iPads using this monitor.
